Commercial/Industrial Overhead Door Service Manager Description:
The Overhead Door Service Manager is responsible for management activities, including establishing department development plans for installation, service, and maintenance. Also responsible for following and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure the company fulfills its contractual obligations for service repair, installations, and maintenance in accordance with profit objectives and directives.

What You will be responsible for:

  • Must be able to travel between all of Dixie's offices as needed (Montgomery, AL, Opelika, AL, Birmingham, AL, Columbus, GA)
  • Lead the start-up and manage the overhead door division of all new offices acquired
  • Supervise and lead commercial/industrial Overhead Door Technicians and Installation Crew.
  • Directly responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, managing, and evaluating field technicians.
  • Conduct ride-alongs with technicians and provide feedback.
  • Ensure all repairs and installs are completed to the highest quality standards and if necessary all permits are obtained.
  • Communicate and monitor goals.
  • Manage workload and schedules to best utilize manpower and maximize profits
  • Ensure technicians are being dispatched effectively.
  • Assist technicians with issues while in the field.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings.
  • Resolve customer issues or concerns to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Ensure all department operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal, and company requirements.
  • Ensure all team members comply with OSHA safety standards.
  • Harness a safety culture.
  • Provide feedback to fellow managers regarding market trends, revenue opportunities, customer issues, and all issues relevant to the business.
  • Manage and stay within departmental budget.
  • Achieve budgeted gross margin.
  • Meet or exceed all company goals.
  • Maximize lead opportunities, retain, and grow Maintenance Membership clients.
  • Manage inventory, equipment, and service fleet.
  • Review and approve new products and services.
  • Perform clerical duties associated with, but not limited to, field technician paperwork, personnel evaluations, and expense reports.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
  • Obey and teach the company Code of Ethics Team Rules and Team Philosophy.
  • One-third of your time should be spent recruiting the right Team Members, one-third of your time should be spent training those team members, and then the last one-third should be spent supervising, administrating, and motivating your team. Manage your time in these proportions and you will be a successful Residential Overhead Door Service Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 5 years in a leadership experience
  • Computer skills, specifically the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and drive results
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of current Overhead Door/Garage Door
  • Understanding of accounting and finance as it relates to the Overhead Door industry
